about

Meg Lemieur received her BFA in Illustration at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and proceeded to work in the children’s toy and activity industry for 3 years.  Sculpture became her outside-the-office love during this time and her efforts developed into a marketable line of fun and exciting animal sculptures that she decided to develop full time in 2008.

These unique wall-mounted creatures are crafted with the spirit of many animal stories.  In her building process, Meg has chosen to paper maché over mixed media to create each finished piece. That allows her to play with many materials, old and new in the armature-building process. On the top layer, after laying the last piece of paper, Meg adds her own style of painting and finishing touches, pulling the whole piece together.  The hand-made mixture of medias in each piece ensures the essence of individuality and will bring life to any home, office, studio, nursery, or anywhere you want.

Meg has also developed masks, props and puppets for theaters in Pennsylvania, New York, and California.  Her love of theater and movement, which blossomed in her youth, is evident in work she develops now.

Illustration has always been a core element in Meg’s work.  Ever since she was little, she would illustrate tales of little animal characters that she would make up.  The story-telling aspect of illustration is what keeps the art alive for all of us and keeps Meg’s hand busy telling stories the best way she knows how.
